Project Overview

A 5-acre parcel slated for a community solar farm was completely overgrown with wild saplings, brambles, and fallen birch. Survey stakes were buried under years of unchecked growth. We cleared the entire site down to grade, exposing all survey markers and leaving clean, level ground ready for solar array installation.

The Challenge

The solar developer needed a completely clear, level site with all 48 survey stakes visible for array placement. The 5-acre parcel had been vacant for years, with dense sapling growth up to 4 inches in diameter covering the entire area. Traditional clearing would have taken over a week.

Our Solution

We deployed our full-size CAT 299D3 for maximum production speed on this flat, open site. Working systematically in rows, we cleared the entire 5 acres while carefully exposing each survey stake. The mulch layer was ground fine enough to allow immediate equipment access for solar installation.

The Result

All 48 survey stakes were exposed and verified, the site is level and clear, and the solar developer was able to begin array installation the following week. The 2-day clearing timeline kept the project on schedule for its grid connection deadline.
